McDavids Oilers - speed speed speed

Created by: Watty1
Team: 2019-20 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 25, 2019
Published: Jan. 25, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Nyquist, Grabner and Hagelin all add tremendous speed to complement McDavid. Chiasson and Perlini could be secondary players who could get some top line minutes but serve in top 9 roles. Janmark hasn't played center in Dallas but fills in the 3C role to start the year and has versatility in the top 9.

RNH is traded for Dougie Hamilton. I think the 1 for 1 could be fair enough but you tell me if more should be added.

why would Arizona, Dallas, and Winnipeg do any of those deal? .. they'd all be a quick no.

Oilers forward depth isn’t good enough to trade RNH.

Well WPG has to move Comrie at some point. Hellebuyck is there long term. I guess if Brossoit leaves then Comrie assumes the role but if Brossoit re-signs then there is no room for him.

Arizona needs an RHD next season and Grabner has not produced at the level they have hoped, I don't think.

The Dallas one can be a legit question mark, but I'm going out on a limb that they try to shake something up with their forward group. But it's fair to question that one.

Winnipeg could probably easily move Comrie as part of a bigger package for a well better off return. A 2nd round pick is useless to them when they're in win now mode. I understand that Comrie will most likely be moved, but your value is way off. Even if he's moved by himself, it's probably for a player of some sorts instead.

Russell shoots left handed but plays the right side. He's overpaid and terrible. Arizona could get much better options that wouldn't cost Grabner. He's one of their key penalty killers and with his speed if he was moved, he could bring back someone who's useful, not an overpaid defensemen.

Dallas one is a legit question mark. Not a chance Dallas considers it. I highly doubt anyone takes on Lucic's contract. Edmonton is gonna have to either buy him out, bury him in the minors, or highly overpay to move him. Or he'll be stuck on their roster till that deal expires. It's the worst contract in the league, every team in the league knows it too.

Winnipeg would do that deal. Might wait to see if anyone makes a higher offer for Comrie, but 2nd round pick is alright.

If the pick was a 1st I’d do it
