Montreal isn't making a play for either guy because they are focusing on the future.

I understand that, but if MTL makes the playoffs, they'll draft later in the first, theres quite a drop off in talent after roughly pick # 20 in the first round, giving up these picks and prospects would be the better option in my opinion

Montreal has no interest in trading their first round pick. Bergevin has never traded it, and he has said in recent interviews that he won't. Montreal has no intentions on hurting the future by making trades to win now, not to mention Boston/Toronto/Tampa are all stacking up to win this year, there is no point in doing these trades just to lose in the first round.

I doubt thats enough for Toffoli. I doubt Anaheim trades Fowler as they just resigned him to a long term contract.

Even if MTL made these trades they still dont get out of the first round, meaning your giving up a top 20 pick for Fowler, which I would rather just keep.

Also dont think Toffoli fits with this team, its been rumored for a while but frankly they already have plenty of LW and they play an up tempo, skating putt k chase game that doesnt match Toffolis.

Toffoli is a RW, not a LW.
