Is Brown really only worth a 4th? Feel like he is a victim of too much talent around him.

I feel like hes maybe worth a 3rd. He could also be a product of the amazing centres he's playing with

He plays on the 4th line with goat...
He might get a 2nd or an early 3rd, or in your case (being an Oilers fan) JP

In what world would Vancouver make this trade? They are arguably getting a downgrade on D AND they are retaining salary? That's a hard no from VAN. For the record, I am not a Vancouver fan.

Tell me, exactly what do you think any jp trade might bring back (regardless of whether you want it to happen or not)?
If he went to the leafs, they would send him down to the Marlies for the year at least for context.

You could very well be right and he could be able to produce more but he’s nothing more then a third line player

I'm not saying he's worth that. I'm saying, you'd be stupid to give up on someone and trade them for nothing after just 2 1/2 years. He'll be amazing in 2-3 years, just needs to get solid time in the top 6, or to spend an entire year on the condors top line. He shows nearly every game flashes of 'elite-ness'.

Have you looked at Vancouver’s offseason signings Jay Beagel..ect. I’m sure they think Ziatsev is better then he really is

What he needs is development, and the Oilers have a history of not developing prospects. He is dangerously close to being a bust and is playing like 8 mins a night last I checked.

If he were to be traded now, the best you might get is a Connor brown or maybe a 2nd or something around there.

I agree that trading him now would be stupid, except this is the Oilers. This is what they do, and they are in a catch 22 with their history of development (or lack thereof).

You have the option of ruining this kids career, or trading him for a pathetic return considering his pick. Your faith in his development has no basis in reality man. Look at your team. He needs minutes, and he is not getting it. Yammer is up too right? They are going to do the same with him. Honestly I feel bad for you. I'm a leafs fan, I know suffering, but this is just beyond absurd levels...
