Though i see dermott possibly being reilly's partner in about 2 years putting him with reilly right now in his development could stunt him seeing he still is making the odd error and need some sheltered min. Also, the leafs need to shed a bit of cap for about 3.5 million in bonuses this offseason if dubas can find someone willing to take horton would be ideal but unlikely. But i do like the trade though i doubt detriot will want to retain.

I like how Johnsson and Kapanen play together and I think that they work really well with Kadri.

Right now Horton's contract doesn't change the Leafs cap for this year and certainly not next year. Leafs scoring or lack of seems to be the problem now. Since Nylander's return, they seemed be much less confident with their forward lines.

I also don’t think they will retain but this would be best case scenario. Also, Dermott has been moving up and down the lineup all season and think that him and Hainsey with switch depending on the situation. I also think this because Dermott has shown he can play on the right side and I don’t Rielly comfortable there.

Actually he was never LTIR'd so dumping him opens up the cap they need to pay bonuses. but like i said many times before it is doubtful anyone will take him. Also, they need to balance the lines more
Marleau/Matthews/Marner
Johnsson/Tavares/Kapanen
Hyman/Kadri/Nylander
Lindholm/Gauthier/Brown
These lines maximizes each players skill and strengths and minimizes their weaknesses. I'll agree nylander is still finding his game but he is almost there in my opinion. But to be honest the players need to just figure it out and start trusting eachother again.

Actually his has played well when he has played on the right. Also, Dermott has the ability to play on the right i agree but he has moved up a down the pairings so he can get experience against elite talant but needs to gain more experience to be able to do it for longer streches.
