If you're talking about specifically for this website and building ACGM teams...I find the best way is to identify they player you want to acquire (let's say Pontus Aberg)...make an ACGM team acquiring him...and make the title of the team something along the lines of "Trade with Minny - provide thoughts"

Then in your team's description section, reach out to Minny fans asking them what from your team's roster would they be willing to take in exchange for Aberg.

For me there's a lot of great posters representing a lot of different fan bases that will engage you in a discussion to see if there's a mutually beneficial deal to be made...or at least give you an idea of how they value that player and what his acquisition costs might be.

No problem. Respectful debates with other fans is what makes this site fun for me and, as I said, there's lots of guys on here willing to engage in that debate...happy to help out anyone who's willing to join in on the discussion

One other piece of advice - don't take it personally if someone makes fun of your trade or says the value is way off without explaining .

Everybody has strong opinions, especially about the value of their own team's players. Just respectfully ask for some explanation from them and most of the time you'll get a lot of good ideas.

A good thing to keep in mind is the needs of the teams involved in the trade. Pittsburgh isn't going to sell the farm for a mid level 2C as long as they have Crosby and Malkin, but Winnipeg might give up and good haul for that same player to better their playoff chances for example. Or, using a trade that just happened, Boyle was worth a 2nd round pick to Nashville, but he wouldn't have been worth that to say Montreal because they don't consider themselves a cup contender at this point and Boyle is a UFA.
