That is a massive overpayment for Pesce. No way the leafs consider that. Also, I think it takes more going to Van to take that Zaitsev contract.

The 1st is a non-starter if Kapanen is in the deal. Pesce is a solid d-man, but I hes a 2nd pairing guy. That's still too steep of a price for a 2nd pairing guy IMO.

Not 2nd Pairing. On Toronto and most other teams he would be top linehe is a underrated defensive defenseman. Think a less talented colton parayko, but a year younger.

I'm not sure how Carolina values Pesce, especially since they have an insane amount of D depth (especially RHD). But I know they want scoring talent and you would think Kappy for Pesce would be close enough, IMO. Johnsson and a pick even? I don't know.
