What’s no about it? I want to hear suggestions im open to anything. Because I believe this team like this is perfect casue then Marleau afte the year is done we sign someone to a contract of 3-3.5 aav and then give Andersen an 3yr 5.5 million aav extension and there’s our goalie situation done d men are almost all signed forwards are great two lines of pure scoring then our Penalty kill third line with a underrated fourth it’s a lot better than you think.

Makes sense but most forwards are signed four or five years after this one and truth be told Rielly is gone in three years anyway he is only making 5 million aav and will leave so we have to win in the four year span of 2019-2022 we just need to bluster our lineup with d men now not offence and nylander wether people like it or not has no choice but to go unless someone like Pietrangelo is willing to make 2 million a year

Rielly isn't going anywhere. Everyone loves him. Cap will go up multiple millions like it does every year, x that by 3, plus add Seattle and new CBA...who knows what/if the cap will be at. Maybe they do something where you can have "x" (lets say 3) players count toward "x" of your cap, but the rest the owners have to pay, some kind of tagging system. We don't know where things are heading, but I would be willing to bet this organization will do anything to keep Rielly a Leaf for life. I would also be willing to bet, and this ties into your Rielly leaving eventually crazy scenario, that not acquiring Pietro and trading for a RD on cheaper value and term is in the plans (i.e.- Pesce)

I could see that but every time I suggest that to people they turn around and say no Carolina is not giving up a pesce and a first for lets say nylander and zaitsev who do u think would be involved in a trade like that?

This is how the media affects people. The 3rd line isnt worth Glendening. I dont care how many times we are told the Leafs want him, he just isnt that good. As for Pietro, hes too expensive. The Leafs need cost controlled players, which a short term Dman thatll want more than 7M is not going to do that for them. Its a nice try, but does not help the Leafs get any closer to the cup, regardless of the Medias thoughts.

Holland said he wants and prospects since they are rebuilding. Kadri is too old and expensive for what Detroit is trying to do. Plus center is the one position Detroit isn't worried about. I don't see Detroit trading for or signing any big name players till the end of next season. Detroit has a good young core to build on and since we are at least a year from just making the playoffs and longer to be an actual threat Holland is going to wait till some of Detroit's bad contracts come of the books before spending a lot of money on big names. I also don't see them trading picks away and Holland said they aren't trading Bertuzzi and he is also fine with not making any trades.

I do look at the media but make my own stuff up I base stuff off stats, age, health, term and salary per year if something comes to me I look it up and do my research not through rumours and all that this roster might work but chemistry would need to be worked out and glendening is up for a second is the asking price I say he’s worth brown and two fourths that’s it but detriot wants a lot

What in there told you Glendening was a 3rd liner? Kadri is a 2C at a bargain deal, and you chose to dump him in favour of Glendening. He is a 4th liner at best, that is replaceable. If Detroit wants a 2nd for Glendening, let them keep him. I wouldnt even swap Brown for Glendening. I expect Brown to be dumped for a low pick like Leivo and Carrick were, but I still would prefer that cap space over Glendening. I havent even mentioned Coburn either. Might as well have used Hainsey in that position. I get the age, but Coburn isnt that great defensively either.

As a Detroit fan I haven't heard that. I also would take a 3rd for Glendening. I thought he was going to be traded last season Holland was probably asking to much.

I think nobody knows what the trade is. The fact is that Carolina and Toronto continue to scout each other. Idk what the move there is, my comment was more on the fact that Rielly is never leaving. The coaches love him, the office loves him, the fans love him. My point was no one knows in 3 years when he's up, where the cap will be with Seattle entering the league, if there is one, or if there is some kind of tagging system in place for players. I think they need a tagging system of sorts if they don't fix the cap. Teams shouldn't be punished for drafting well and winning and continuing to draft well, like PIT or CHI, etc. I think there will be some kind of halfway point to this.

Kadri is worth more than that.
Glendenning is an above average 4C, but downgrading from Kadri to him would be a huge loss.

Bertuzzi is good, but not worth the downgrade at all.

no to Detroit Kadri is solid. We don't need a fourth line mike needs his head look at. Roll three lines and use three plyons once every 5 min.

It's not wanting to trade Bertuzzi that is preventing Kadri from coming to Detroit its his age and his contract. Detroit isn't in position to go after players like that. Kadri is very good but coming to Detroit and sitting around for 3-4 years till we become a legitimate contender is a waste of his talent and Detroit's resources. Kadri is much better off going to a team that is almost there. I see Kadri as a guy who can play against a teams to line and still put up points and right now that is a luxury Detroit can't afford right now.

Now Bertuzzi Detroit took him really early in the draft and they saw something that they felt they needed and it's the entire front office that likes him from owner to the scouting department and coaching staff. He has shown that he has really good hands around the net and loves the rough play. I didn't see it at first but when you hear broadcasters and analysts talk about guys like Wilson on The Caps and there aren't many of those guys available it started to make sense to me. He isn't as good as Wilson yet but if Detroit thinks he can be that good its worth waiting a couple years to see. But that just my opinion.
