They're probably thinking that Ottawa is gonna need contracts to get to the salary cap floor, not that Backes would waive for Ottawa but I'm guessing that's what the person who made this was thinking.

ya, no no no its going to cost Boston a 1st or more just to get rid of Backes, and OTT will want a 1st + for Dzingle or a A prospect +.

Ottawa would probably gladly take Backes just to help them get to the cap floor but he’s not waiving his NMC to go there

they wont, if they need to get to the cap floor they can sign any UFA to a high cap contract rather than help a hated divisional rival.
