TML fans know how boned their cap is and they wont match over 5 on KK as the picks at that point would be more valuable given the Marner situation after the Nylander and Mathews deals . TML cannot overpay everyone and KK becomes like Paul Byron in CGY , a causality of a deep roster with higher value players playing bigger roles .

remember we're talking leafs fans , you got to expect any trade will be approached with negativity just as any trade with BOS does .

MTL fans are bad when it comes to Gallagher but most would take a trade if they got a similar type back like a Tyson Jost and a pick then i guarantee they change their mind .
with KK he's so young his value isnt established players is more in picks and a prospect from Junior/NCAA or oversea's . personally i wouldnt give up anything but picks for him as he's never succeeded until Mathews and Marner developed chemistry with him despite being in a system previously with Crosby and Malkin . KK could just as easily become a mediocre 3rd line winger in MTL if he doesnt find chemistry like with PIT
