The Rangers would be lucky to get this much actual value for Hayes. No shot the Sharks do this. Trading a 23 year old on pace for 50+ points on the third line playing only 13:30 minutes per game for a rental middle 6 winger? Nope.

Trading Labanc for Hayes just opens up another hole for SJ instead of filling one. Adding Hayes and keeping Labanc is the deal the Sharks will likely be looking to make if they have legit interest, Hayes-Thornton-Labanc 3rd line is elite while merely swapping Labanc and Hayes does nothing really of substance as Hayes won't have nearly the scoring impact he has on NYR this year playing 15 mins per game on a 3rd line as opposed to 19:30 per game on the top line.
