not bad AJC...

check out my post from 10min ago titled "NYR moves for next season." While somewhat purely a dream you might find it interesting as it builds for now/future a tad more.

Thank you, will do...
If Staal & Smith are bought out, that would leave plenty of $$$ cap space to sign Karlesson, Panarin, McLeod, and maybe a UFA like Lindberg. Which would have NYR looking real good for next season and for years to come.

Yeah I just don't seem them buying out both Staal & Smith. I think they're better off keeping Staal and letting his contract run out in 2 years. They're still dealing with the cap hit of Girardi's contract and definitely do not want to be paying that + Staal + smith for the next 4 years while they rebuild and sign ppl. Staal is gone in 2 years, they might be able to dump Smith on some team if they retain a bunch of salary but holding on to him for at least another season seems more likely.

ZUC isn't worth a 1st and the Penguins wouldn't give you that for him anyway.
He's a 2nd or 3rd tier FA. You are dreaming if you think you are getting a 1st for him.

Regardless of how you rate Zuc, NYR will get at least a 1st round pick in trade. Probably a prospect as well.

i doubt anyone is coughing up a 1st for a 31 year old rental who has cracked 20 goals 1 time in his career.
There is limited demand for pieces and the prices will reflect that as you go down the list.
You are looking at Panarin, Stone and MD currently as being on the block.
Not everyone is just going to cough up a pick for a player who is of lesser quality especially depending on the price of those 3.
So don't get your hopes up. My guess is he brings back a return like Coyle did. A prospect that might need a change of scene and a pick.
Or a draft pick lower than 1st round.

Your comparing apples & oranges because most teams can't afford the asking price of the three players you mentioned. But most teams can afford the much lower asking price of a 1st round pick for Zuc.

The market value is set by the top. Those top guys are a 1st and a prospect. No one is giving up key pieces during a playoff run, and no one is giving up multiple picks and/or Multiple prospects. At least not A level ones.

Like I said, the value is most likely that of Coyle. He's a second to third tier rental. There are only so many real buyers in the market. Maybe 5-6 Three of them will be in on the big 3. Everything else will seem like a step down and so will the cost.

What makes you believe the market is set by the top? Past history clearly shows there are many factors that set the market and all GM's don't follow your idea of a rule book.

Your problem is, is that you mentally can't handle there being many factors to a particular situation. That's why you use absolutes in your senances to control the narrative. Stop using words like "no one... always, never, your either with me or against me, especially when it clearly contradicts past TDL history. Now that EDM has a new GM, do you believe all GM's are now one and the same?

I'm happy with the trade, lets how it plays out. DAL is renting to own... If DAL buys Zuc it's a 1st & a 1st or 2nd. If just renting it's a 1st or 2nd & a 3rd with odds being Zuc resigns in the offseason with NYR.

no way dallas signs him. They knew that when they traded for him. And I highly doubt they make it to the third round. I just don't see it. Too hard a road, not enough talent.

it will most likely be just a second and third. While I wouldn't rule out one of the conditions turning into a first, its not that likely.

If Zuc doesn't resign in DAL, where else would he want to play? NYR is the only organization in America he's ever played with. If not DAL, most likely he signs again with NYR. It's a win win either he resigns in DAL or resigns with NYR.

Than Zuc signs again next season with NYR, which Gorton put himself in perfect position to do this offseason.

You don't know that. Hell he could go to CBJ next year no problem. There are a 29 other teams in the league.

And NYR could sign Karlsson & Panarin instead resulting in no $$$ left for Zuc. Anything could happen, lets see how it all plays out. I'm very happy with the trade, too bad your not.

I have no opinion on it. I simply stated for the record it was a 2nd. As I stated earlier he wouldn't get a 1st. Or a 1st and a prospect as you stated.

Personally I think it's a fair deal.

oh it is. You just aren't admitting it is.
They have to beat either both the Preds and the Jets or the Flames and the Sharks.

That's just not going to happen.
They aren't going to resign him. So it's a done deal.

Awe... Your going to have to wait a little longer for the deal to be complete. I personally believe NYR will end up with at least one 1st, maybe two and if not Zuc signs with NYR plus the picks. Sooo, it's not a done deal.

zuc isn't going to resign, that's a fantasy you tell yourself. Much like Stone isn't going to resign in washington. He doesn't want to finish his career in a rebuild.
You got 2 2nd rounders. It's a fair deal but that's what he got. Look at it in the long term. Two 27-23% chances of a 400 game player is almost the same as a 45% chance at a 400 game player.

Quit acting like a snooty bit$h Pharrow Coga! Everything you've written is from your own little snoony fantasy land where your always right regardless of how far from reality and completely opposite from the truth you are.

NYR is already a much better team than COL and NYR's short rebuild ends this July 1st. Unfortunately I don't see COL being too active July 1st. But if you watch and learn what NYR does instead of talking about what your not able to understand, you might one day become more knowledgable?
