If a 3rd team wants to come in and take Krug for a 1st and prospect, id gladly accept that. I doubt he waives for Ottawa

Here comes @Bcarlo25 with "too much for a rental". Hell, Stone is a rental, he isnt even worth Bjork and a 1st. Lets just get him for pennies because hes a rental and then we extend him and look like geniuses

Didn't realize Stone was Gretzky with 5 years left on his deal?

What is this garbage? Has the world collectively lost their mind? And you're a bruins fan right? I think you are...you don't actually want this trash to happen do you?

You don't have to move any salary to take on Stone. It's the deadline, and his cap hit is pro rated. According to capfriendly, the bruins have aorund 15 million in deadline room.

yup.

except a first and bjork is light. two firsts, a near point per game d man, a former 13th overall pick, and a good young roster player is absurd.

two first is absurd. and i only have to wait 4 days to laugh in your virtual face. can't wait.

hey i agree stone will cost a lot but moving krug now is not an option if you want to compete in this playoffs. stone is a 1st vaak or stud and probably a roster player grz or jfk .

Let me break down your comment for you. In my trade description I stated contingent on Stone willing to sign. To sign him we will need anywhere 7.5- 10 Million. Next year we have to look at signing Carlo and MacAvoy. Now unless we can move Backes the only other big salary that is expendable is Krug. A great offensive defender who is consistently a minus player. He blows a lot of defensive plays even when he is playing well. He is a defensive liability. Stone will make up for that offence and is both offensively and defensively sound. And is the best trade piece currently available and would fit in great on the first line and finally give Krejci permanacy with Pastranak and solidify four full lines.

As a Bruins fan. How would you not want that?

It amazes me how much bruins fans routinely under rate Grizz. There have been many nights, including last night, when he's been the bruins best d man. Losing him would hurt as much as losing Krug.

Just for reference, last season, the big deadline deal was McDonagh and Miller, neither of which were traditional rentals. McDonagh had a full extra season remaining on his contract (an incredibly team friendly contract), and while Miller's contract was expiring, he was an RFA at seasons end. So, neither were rentals. That package, even by the craziest sens fans standards, is without question far more valuable than a couple months of Mark Stone. What did they give up? A first, a conditional second (that moves up to a first if they win the cup), a mid-tier, run of the mill 25 year old roster player who had averaged far under a half point per game to that point in his career, and none of the bolts top prospects. An okay 20 year old junior d man, he has 5 total points in 54 AHL games this season, and 19 year old pretty good, former first rounder playing in junior.

This has the bruins giving up two first rounders, non conditional, a solid young NHL forward, a former first round pick with upside, two years of a freaking near point per game d man. That is unprecedented, and utterly ludicrous by any measure.

If you are right about Backes being moveable in the off-season I would agree. Not sure he is though. I do hope you are right.

Agree with you about Gryz which is why I don’t mind trading Krug. I would rather Gryz.

Because I don't like it when my team gets trade raped. That's how.

Players come with a guarantee of an extension once every decade or so, that premise is just silly. Why would Stone do that? For that matter, why would the bruins do that? All it does is drastically raise his trade value.

This is craziness.

well, we agree on something, I think if you take Krug out of this deal.....it's still too much. A first, Zboril and Cehlarik is going to be close to the best offer Ottawa gets. It might not get it done because they prefer to move him out west, but I would rather miss out on the player, than make a bad trade, get better, still probably lose to Tampa, and be left with nothing to show for it next year, with no krug, no cehlarik, and no first round picks for three straight seasons. ew.

I think stone is tough to gauge value wise. who was the last player like this moved at the deadline. I agree its too much to pay and that its more than mcdonagh or nash or really anyone. still if im Ottawa I want a first and a stud prospect atleast. maybe adding jfk or grz is too much but that maybe the cost. i agree grz is super underated at this point and im happy to see him in the lineup.
