The Lovejoy trade was pretty bad, but I thought the Zuccarello trade was a pretty good one for Dallas. You guys need secondary scoring and that's exactly what Zucc brings to the table. If he's a pure rental (which you should hope he is) you didn't give up too terribly much for him.

Trading for Zucc and still being the 5th best team in the central does not look good.

I'm not even a Stars fan and I completely agree. One of the worst GMs in the league, but no one notices because the Stars just "get by" every year

My argument is that Zuccarello isn't enough to make a difference. He isn't some elite sniper, he is a playmaker. Stars need another impact forward to be any real threat, but Nill said he was done this deadline.

Yea it is pretty rough. The defense and goaltending is sooooo good this year too. If the stars drafted well there wouldn't be any problem

He made some great moves early on, but recently he has heavily favored vets (especially those who tend to get injured) and has continued the mediocrity of the team. We are becoming more mismanaged than Minnesota!

True. He's a solid top 6 winger but not incredibly dynamic. I still think Dallas' lineup looks better with him in it, but I guess we'll see if they can compete with Nashville or Winnipeg

He does something really good every now and then, he hasn't drafted very well (outside of Heiskanen and maybe some other guys more recently but it's too early to say) which is key these days. It's why they're a fringe playoff team and not perennials contenders, as I'm sure you know
