Not too complicated, I've witnessed the lightning bridge Johnson AND Palat with 3yr/10mil deals and they both were able to sign long term @ 5m and 5.3m... Not to mention Kucherov at 3yr/14.3m and now 9.5m/yr, which is looking to be the biggest contract steal in the league within a few years.... I can't foretell how much these guys are willing to accept, but the tax benefit and the significant cup favorite factor makes it all the more likely for a team friendly deal.

Yeah like Karlsson and Stone would ever sign those contracts, Need to be realistic it doesn't matter what Florida's tax system is and i've lived there for 37 years now. Karlsson wont sign for any thing less then $11 million per in Florida or not and Stone probably $9 million per in Florida or not. Other players like Stamkos and Hedman took less to keep the core together had nothing to do with cheaper taxes.

Lmao it pretty much all evens out. Players are taxed based on where they’re playing. For example, if you play an away game in Dallas you’re taxed based on Texas tax laws. It’s a lot more complicated than this but that’s the dumbed down version. Tampa players would be taxed on 43 of their games (41 TBL and 2 FLA home games) with the Florida state tax rate. When they play in Canada it’s taxed based on the province tax rates. Tax is the most misunderstood part of hockey

So Tavares pockets more than Stamkos? Nope. Here's a link: https://gavingroup.ca/nhl-tax-calculator/ so ya'll can go learn how the tax benefit does IN FACT make a huge difference for contracts.

41 STAT COMPARISON RESULTS: Stamkos wins 30, Tavares wins 8, and there's 3 ties....

What does that mean? It means Stamkos isn't only the better of the 2 players, he's also 2.5m cheaper on his team's cap and is STILL able to pocket MORE MONEY after taxes (5.39m), compared to Tavares' 11m Toronto cap hit (only pockets 5.15m)... So, is the tax benefit still a myth?! WAKE UP PEOPLE! Don't be salty if your team pays more for players than my team does lmaooo.
