I think Dallas give up a little to much actually. Not much. I said 2nd and mid to low level prospect. Was his value so it was not far off. Something crazy happens and they reach the WC final and the 2nd becomes a 1st it’s rough. Slim chance but never say never. Zucc was UFA. Kreider is under contract, no discount there.

yeah well...you are going to have to count that they will take even more of a cut next year to ship out Kreider. He isn't the first to be thought of as a rental or a trade asset and most teams are interested for the stars (stone, duchene, dzingel, zucc, panarin bob..) not Kreider, Hayes, Simmonds, Stall, Coyle (well Boston is an exception)... They are going to have a hard to time shipping him off next year but might as well get him dealt this year. This is for the Rangers side of things and if they took such a big cut for Zucc, they would take at least a tiny cut for Kreider

They will have no issues moving Kreider whenever they decide to. He will be in high demand.

There just isn't enough value for the NYR to do this. Kreider has term like Coyle so expect a high price. I'd litterally rather have Donato + 4th than Zboril + 2nd and I'd also rather have Kreider over Coyle so the combination means this is pretty far off. Guys like Hughes, a 4th round pick and friggen Nordstrom have little value when the centerpieces of the deal are so far off. There isn't a good reason for the Rangers to do this and they don't have to deal him if they don't want to because he's not an impending UFA so you HAVE to pay more to aquire him or they'll just wait to the draft or even resign him because he's young enough to still be a core piece by the time they actually get good again.
