And then we'd have been pissed when they walked in the summer.

Also our defence without Mete is considerably worse and Gudbranson is certainly not the answer. I can guarantee you'd hate that pairing with Weber.

We just need to calm down and take a breath, we're still at least a year from the deadline really mattering.

No to all of those trades. Stone wouldn't have signed here, combined the moves actually put us farther back, and Gudbranson is horrible

Trading Poehling, Mete and a first would have been a massive mistake. Shaw has also been a forechecking and net front force. What the Habs did was exactly what they should have done.
