You're undervalueing marner, kaps and johnsson with those $ figures. And Marleau set himself so he can absolutely NOT be budged until his contract expires. Every which way. Every loop hole has been plugged by his agent.

That's a good point. If TOR wants to move him they have to win a Cup, because then he'd probably accept a trade to SJS to finish out his season. Though SJS can't really afford his cap hit.

- Marner got a short term deal equality to Kucherov who is head and shoulders above Marner at this point.
- Kapanen and Johnsson has been good but they havn't proven anything yet.

I left 1.7 mill just in case and Gards doesn't really have to be resigned. Honestly if things workout like this I wouldn't mind seeing Leafs pick up Trouba or Myers instead of Gardiner.

But for kaps and johnsson I feel like 20 plus goals and 40 plus points in slightly less than a full season is more than enough for a bridge deal @ somewhere between 2.9 to 3.5 M. But what do I know.
