Not a chance Arizona gives up Stepan without getting something really valuable in return. Stepan matters way more to Arizona then he matters to them as a trade chip and with no apparent #1/2C to take his place in the coming year or so, no reason to trade him.

Jim Vesey is worth a 2nd no more no less. Strome has his value in a 4th at most. Why are you trading CJ Smith and Girgensons for two players who are not helping improve our team

Vesey is somewhat proven and fills a need. He’s got good size, a little grit, and 16 to 17 goals in his first 2 years and this year he has been filling in admirably for Zuccarrelo since the deadline on his off wing the right wing. He will probably flirt with 20 this year and of course could do more next to Eichel.

I really like CJ Smith a lot but for some reason we won’t play him more than 10 minutes a night to see what he can do. Why am I trading him? It doesn’t seem like it is ever going to happen in Buffalo, although I think if he got an opportunity it could. And I want to add a cheap top six forward with a little size and grit to the group and Vesey can do that. Is he a gamebreaker? No, but he is a good player and still young and an upgrade over what we have now behind the top line.

How many Stepan trades, and how many responses will it take for Sabres fans to understand it'll take more than some spare parts to get him?

There's no way Arizona makes this trade.
