Really you think? I'm not saying your wrong but my thought process was Brown is a former 20 goal scorer, Sprong definitely has the potential to be that but his value has dropped. If I remember correctly Anaheim didn't trade much more than that to Pittsburgh.

Sharks aren't taking on that cap. Leafs will have to add if you want them to take the cap.

Johnsson gets as much as kaps. Give or take a penny. And you'll never get a Sprong for a Brownie

I think you need to clear your head of a couple of things. First, Jake Gardiner will not be back with this team, that is basically a guarantee at this point. Second, Marleau will not be asked to waive his NMC, so unless he walks up to management and proposes a "Brooks Orpik" type scenario, he's not going anywhere. Finally, Ennis will surely want more than $1 million.

That might be true with Gardiner, but I honestly don't think so. I've read articles and seen interviews were he said he what's to stay in Toronto, and I believe him. On the Marleau thing, I felt that when he singed that 3 year deal with Toronto there was a verbal agreement that the 3rd year they would trade him back to San Jose to play his final year and retire a shark, because San Jose offered him the same money but only 2 years and apparently the 3 years was important to him. So I feel San Jose would take that. Now with Ennis, he's making the absolute minimum that you can make (650,000) to me his play has been good and I like if they keep him, but he hasn't done anything to warrant more than a 1 year 1 million (Almost like a show me contact) then if he does better again then give him term and money. Just my thoughts.

Leafs can't/don't want to afford Gardiner. Your 20 man roster doesn't work. Cost efficient Sprong seems to have found his game with Ducks. Johnsson gets more. Sharks want Marleau with play/pay even less than the Leafs do.

Kapanen and Johnsson contract's are bridge deals. Kapanen has been better all year then Johnson, he's been in more situations then Johnson, like power play and penalty kill and has succeeded at both. That's why I feel that as good as Johnson has been this year he only gets half of what Kapanen gets. Maybe the years can change from 3 to maybe 2 or 1, but I really think the money is fair.
