As a Sens fan; I would very much take Lucic on if it meant getting a young controllable playyer like Yamamoto back. I have a feeling Edm will hang onto their assets like Yamamoto and Puljujarvi much tighter than the previous management did...

GMs are lining up to give a 3rd for Brown. Benning is overpaid and overplayed. He's a 7th defender at best. Leafs don't want Benning anyway. And a little bit of free advice.... *quietly whispers* connor brown can't do sh#t on the first line. He is a bottom 6 fwd at the VERY VERY best. And yes I know he was McDavid teammate/linemate in junior. I watched them play live every home game. It still won't matter. The Leafs had play 1st, 2nd and 3rd line all year. He cant' finish, though he's responsible enough defensively.

If EDM can hold onto a bit of salary or pay part of his signing bonus' that yeah sure that's fair. To take on the entire contract... that's going to cost a lot more than Yamamoto. Also, they won't be getting Pageau and a mid-round pick in exchange. It has to be a roster player (think Harpur or Boedker at half) and a low end draft pick in return for a 1st, a solid d prospect and the entirety of Lucic's contract.

If Lucic had 2 or less years left sure but 4yX6m for a forth line player. nope
