Trouba = Gost and a 4th liner with a B prospect isn’t worth Nolan Patrick, you get Raffle & Hagg for that

Comparing Trouba to Ghost is like comparing Keith to Krug. Philly fans don't want Ghost while Jets fans have no choice. Ghost has about 75% of Trouba's value

Flyers have Provorov Sanheim Gostisbehere LHD, Gostisbehere 25 yo, thats why they are trading him. But Patrick will not move

That's the point. The Jets don't have a choice. Ghost is on a team friendly contract and gives them a puck moving LHD and PP quarterback. Trouba may be a slightly better overall defenseman but he will be more expensive and doesn't seem to want to stay in Winnipeg. Their value is about equal factoring in the contract and Ghost's offense despite what frustrated Flyers fans say about Ghost.

Adding Patrick to the trade is a deal breaker. From the Flyers perspective what does that do to their center depth? Even when the return is worth it, which this definitely isn't, you don't make a trade that opens a huge hole in your lineup. Flyers already need a 2/3C for next year why make it two.

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't Giroux and Couturier the 1-2 punch. This trade I have here may be off for his recent play

Giroux scores better on wing, especially when on Couturier's wing. The Flyers were forced to put him back at center for part of this year since they would have to use 4Cs in their middle six otherwise.

Anything on Morgan Frost, the way he dominated the OHL I thought he would be an elite 2nd line center at the least. I would make the same trade but replace Patrick with Frost?

A team that wants to contend can't start the season with a under sized rookie at 2C. I think he will be good but he doesn't have the pedigree to throw him into the deep end like that. Plus the Flyers recently have been slow playing prospects so there is a real chance he starts out in the AHL.

All that being said I do like Trouba to Philadelphia if he is willing to sign here. Just not if that is the price to get him.

Trouba is still a one year rental, so it doesn't get you Patrick.
