Team: 2019-20 Carolina Hurricanes
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 21, 2019
Published: Mar. 21, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Trades contingent upon Marleau's readiness to retire and Panarin/Bobrovsky signing in Sun Rise.

Carolina incurs Marleau's full cap hit this season despite him retiring because he is a 35+ contract, but after his bonus is paid by the Leafs July 1, he is only owed $1.5M. Carolina saves $5.4M in actual salary while Leafs cut the bad contract in half with Darling counting $3M against the cap while playing with the Marlies.

Very well thought out. I'd give McElhinney more and the Captain less, but that's just my personal opinion. (Earlier this year I predicted that JW would not score 45 points, so that shows you what I know.). With Panarin or Bobrovsky, this team is a contender next year.

Markstrom isn't near that cheap. Change my mind. Other than that I really like what you've done here.

Pesce is on an equally as good contract with an extra year of term while playing a premium position. Maybe Canes have to include their 1st rounder instead of the 2nd (likely in the teens), but I think the values are close.

I don't know, not that huge of a market for goaltenders right now. Maybe the prospect has to be better than McKeown?

I think if you were to come up with a defenseman equivalent of Huberdeau, it would be brett pesce. Both players are on very team friendly contracts, both are extreamly underrated, and both are elite. yes pesce is elite. watch any canes game and he plays a very good game. hes had an excelent month of march. i think Huberdeau and Pesce are very close in value.

pesce is solid but not elite heaberdaeu holds more value. But with time anything can change so we'll see.
