Canes JTM trade options
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>evelutions2</b></div><div>I get those are the guys you want, but Morrow, Heimosalmi, and Drury are off the table. Drury likely makes his way onto the roster full time next year, and is likely the eventual Staal successor. Heimosalmi is very likely the eventual Pesce replacement. And Morrow is the Canes top prospect who has elite level projections.
Another reason a Miller to Carolina trade won’t work is the cap, and also the inability to do an extension, not that the Canes would even consider extending Miller anyways with how much he is demanding. The only way Miller plays for the Canes is in a rental scenario, and the best offer you will get from the Canes would likely be Necas, Bear, and a 1st. If that doesn’t float your boat, I’m sorry, but a deal can’t be reached then.</div></div>
I do think Canes could extend Miller they have more money than people think roughly 24 million but with at least 10-12 million going towards a first pair d, and resigning one of Nino or Trocheck it doesn't leave them a ton of wiggle room, but If miller were someone they viewed as worth it it could happen, also assuming miller lowers his asking price a little.

Canes JTM trade options
I think both Trades are a little much for the canes. I doubt they want to give up roster players ,which Drury will be next season, and their first. I only say they don't want to give up the first because they draft so well and already lost this years for KK. I do think Necas for miller is a possibility obviously with a lot more thrown in from the canes but they did talk about a pure goalscorer while JT did score 30+ I think Boeser is a more pure goal scorer or even Horvat, this is assuming Vancouver wants to ship out a forward and doesn't care who. Canes and Vancouver are definitely going to be on the Phones a lot this summer though and I could see where a deal does get done maybe for JTM or someone else. Necas And morrow might be something the canes wanna do.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Blazingbat11</b></div><div>Biggest name that could be had imo is Aho. Dundon admitted he doesn’t want to commit too much cash ? upfront, and if MTL (or any team for that matter) can structure an extremely front loaded contract, Aho would probably accept and CAR would have a high chance of letting him go. Could cost 2 1st’s + 2nd + 3rd</div></div>
Where did you hear Dundon doesn't want to commit too much cash upfront. Also its been reported the only team Aho wants sign with is the Canes, doubt he would want to sign else where.

I think if you were to come up with a defenseman equivalent of Huberdeau, it would be brett pesce. Both players are on very team friendly contracts, both are extreamly underrated, and both are elite. yes pesce is elite. watch any canes game and he plays a very good game. hes had an excelent month of march. i think Huberdeau and Pesce are very close in value.

I still think Faulk is the odd man out, Pesce is on too good of a deal and both him and Slavin are too valuable to expect them to get moved. DeHann and Hamilton were just acquired hard to move someone you just acquired. and I dont think TVR would get enough of a return. I think Faulk will likely get a first or a top 6 foward. someone in similar value to coyle. but possible could be part of a bigger deal to land a top line guy. I feel like management is gonna have to make a big move this offseason to go from a playoff team to a contender, assuming the canes make the playoffs

9.6 is well in the realm of possibilities. But i just think he could easily as for much more and not be asking for more than hes worth. I also think anyone who says rantanen for 8 mil is crazy.

Scary thing for the Leafs is that is if Marner signed for 9.6 he'd be doing the team a favor. Kid could easily top matthews contract if he hits the market as an RFA.

I don't think trading McGinn is a good idea. Guy does a lot for the canes that the average fan might not see, but more importantly he has the trust of Brind'Amour. Hes more valuable to the canes than he is in a trade. Also not too hot on trading Faulk for Miller. Hes been playing on a line with Stamkos, and only has 35 pts in almost 60 games. not a terrible stat line, but not that good for playing on the top line on the best team in the league. I think Faulk has decent value. He is having a decent year defensively, first time hes had a positive plus minus higher than 1(+7). He is a right handed shot, and he still has 7 goals and 23 pts which isnt bad. plus I don't think Faulk is really needed in Tampa, with a already stacked d corp.

He is a solid center for us.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>First of all, that trade could be off a horror movie. Wallmark is a premium shutdown centre and a half. Foegele at C is horrific too, You're better off going for McElhinney because although he's injury prone and on the older side, it would allow more leeway for a guy like Nedeljlovic to play. I also think Dzingel isn't going to be a Hurricane, Columbus are talking about extending him and I would bet that our best chance of aiding the top 6 is trading for a guy like Zucker or Hoffman. Also the fact Maenalanen is making 1.1 is giving me migraines. It's not a large enough sample size to tell. Give him a 925k 2 way "prove it" deal.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rcsherwo</b></div><div>You gad me until you traded Wally for nothing and put Foegele at Center. I don't think Dzingle is a player we will go after (though I wouldn't hate it if we did), I think it's more likely we take a run at a UFA winger like Eberle.</div></div>
yea I agree with wallmark I went low on his value for a trade because I thought I overrated him but apparently everyone else really likes him too, so I removed his trade and thought the offense is good then, and signed varlamov instead of mrazek. could change this in the future and sign a forward. Any suggestions?

I agree the struggling ducks wouldn't move a key young piece. also if sending a big package to Ottawa why not for duchene I feel like he'd be more valuable to the team and Ottawa said theyre willing to trade him.

wow a leafs fan that understands the situation their in, no offense its just I've had people on this page argue to me pesce isn't enough for Kapanen that maybe if the canes throw in a first and a prospect then the leafs would consider it, then the same guy signed Kapanen to a 8 year deal at 4 mil a season on his own team.

I'm fine with the blues trade, but I don't think toronto is gonna be able to dump Marleau's contract that easy. and also I think Kapanen is gonna want more than 3.3 but maybe not since its only a 3 year deal but would make sense for him to want to cash in after a good year and not take a bridge deal.

Virtanen, Granlund, are both 3rd or 4th line guys and likely won't help scoring. It just makes no sense to trade a quality scoring dman and a top 6 forward, for a a defensive prospect, picks , and depth scoring. only reason I gave you 3 stars is because Waddell is a idiot and I can't put anything past him.</div></div>
