You could make an argument that Draisatl is on one of the best contracts in the entire league and a top 10 player in the league. Of every piece of garbage on that Oilers team, there is 0% chance they trade draisatl. He's second in the league in goals right now, sixth in points.

PLUS the Oilers still need a new GM. What person in their right mind would start their gm career in Edmonton off by trading the teams second best player... Chiarelli 2.0

Look, the NYI prospects are just that and nothing more. If they were exceptional they’d be in the league already. Bozak is an exceptional 3C, can move up to the 3nd line if needed, can play on the PP. NYI is a better team with him, they have cap space and I’d like to see the Blues dump some salary. Frankly, keep the prospects and send a draft pick. I don’t care:

Yes, EDM has two of the finest young forwards in the league, but that **** show is hobbled by a number of issues and Milan Lucic, and that disastrous contract, is the elephant in the room. Now, EDM can continue to squander McDavid’s prime years, or they can pay somebody to eradicate the Lucic problem, create some cap space, and get some decent players that can actually still play. Schwartz has had an off year; he’s recovering. Sundqvist is turnnng into the big, effective 2-way C he was projected to be. Sanford, at worse, is serviceable with potential. Both sundqvist and Sanford have cheap contests.

You know it, I know it, this team will not make the playoffs as long as Lucic is on that roster. Dump him, ale your cap savings and buy some talent to surround McDavid with.

Thats like us giving up Kostin and Kyrou for Derick Brassard or Nick Bonino... two high end prospects for an aging 3C making 5 mil lol.
