Salary Cap Mode: Basic

Description

Hawks biggest needs are 1st or 2nd line LHD, 1st line LW, and a 3C. We could keep AA, so the move for Haula is questionable since it's 1 year. Barratt will be ready the year after next.

Nurse is going to cost $5M to $5.5M after next season so leaving plenty of cap room and by trading Kahun that frees up more space for summer of 2020 to sign Nurse, Cat and Strome. Cap should be $85M or more that summer.

I don't think any of the defensive prospects will be brought up next year but i'm not worried if we minimize Keith and Seabrooks roles.

Oilers don't have cap room for a top winger so that's not happening and they have to move assets as we all know to fit into the cap. Nurse is worth a 1st rounder and Kahun, switched that, don't know what I was doing before. That's not a bad deal for a guy that's going to require at least $5M in another year. Kahun is a rookie and has looked good playing anywhere on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd lines pretty equally between the 3. First season in his career ever on NA ice.

I don't know why but had Kahun in the Vegas trade and not in the Edmonton trade. Was supposed to be Hayden and Dahlstrom plus a pick for Haula and Kahun and a 1st for Nurse. Fixed now

Kahun, Sikura, Perlini, and Hayden all up front are trade bait as reported by the Athletic and Tribune. Kahun obviously is the most valuable of that group.

I agree with mostly everything I feel like u gave up to much for nurse. Kahun is a good young player and I think his and a 3rd would get nurse, especially the role nurse is gonna have playing 2nd line as nurse is simply not as good as Gus so Gus is our best LHD and he earned it to and I don’t wanna hear anymore people saying Gus can’t be out top LHD he’s one of the best defensman in the league and as of rn the 5th best LHD. And he still getting better

The answer is not a chance. A $5.5M cap dump and 2nd rounder don't balance this out in the least. Nurse is a top 4 guy not a #1 D guy. Kahun and a 1st is more then fair for Nurse.

To say Kahun is proven after one year is nonsense. Remember a guy by the name of Yakupov? He had a really good first season and had 17 goals and 31 points in just 48 games. Kahun has 12 goals and 34 points in 74 games. We all know how Yakupov turned out, no guarantee that Kahun doesn’t follow the same path.

I personally like Klefbom more then Nurse, I think he is a more well rounded player but for some reason Nurse is more loved by many.

As highly as I think of Klefbom, I think if you were to offer that for him that it would be a done deal. I am sure that a lot of Hawks fans will consider this an overpayment but in my opinion you are getting the Oilers best defense man.

That would be an awful trade for the Hawks. Boqvist has a much higher ceiling then Nurse and should be even better the Klefbom. The question is when is he ready? Unfortunately, all arrows are saying the season after next and will likely take him another 2 years before we see what the guy has. Regardless, we'd be selling very low on Boqvist at this point. Klefbom for a 1st, Kahun and Beaudin or Mitchell would be a much better trade.
