he is a free agent this Summer, am I wrong? Even if it is next Summer, Fox has already expressed that he is not signing with Carolina, so there is no need for a trade.

He has a year to go at Harvard, after which he will become a free agent on August 15, 2020. Until then, his rights are owned by Carolina.

He's not a free agent this summer? He plans on going to his senior year of college next fall. So he'd be a free agent in 2020 not 2019.

Trading for his rights, Makes absolutely zero sense. As he plans on committing to his senior year at Harvard. So no matter what happens he's a UFA on August 15th 2020 regardless.

Actually it does when you think of someone else trading for his rights...and beating you to it..there’s always a chance of that..

Depends he grew up a Rangers fan, And that's probably where he lands. It probably makes more sense if New York does it then say LA. But we'll see.

He has not committed to anything yet. If the Rangers trade for his rights, he can sign with them and report to training camp in the fall. If he does committ to Harvard for next year, then it makes no sense to trade for his rights, but all indications are that he would sign with the Rangers if his rights were dealt. We will find out soon enough.

Vesey by himself is enough for Fox. Or a 3rd. Canes have no leverage to demand anything more. Take it, or he walks next Offseason.
