        Sorry, the Coyotes wouldn't be interested in Vanek at 5.5m (who would?) Doubt if Scanella would return a 7th overall pick either. Fowler is a UFA in two years...too give up the 15th overall on a team that seems lots of Dmen.

        I guess I disagree, I think his one year contract is valuable for a team that needs to get to the cap floor. Scandella is only 26 years old, and had 21 points in a down year (a lot of people think his father's death impacted his game this year). If the Yotes draft a dman at 7 they hope he turns into the complete player Scandella is. I think Barrie is worth more than the 7OA and Scandella would make their dcore very competitive. Also Minnesota is in a WIN NOW mode so this makes sense.

        Wouldn't you lose one of Fowler Dumba Reilly or Brodin to expansion draft?
