If Chevy could pull off that trade with Edmonton, the GM of the Year trophy would finally have a namesake!

Oilers trade: The Jets get two very good NHLers....Hall and # 4 overall. Oilers get Trouba and 3 fourth liners and two distant maybes.
Fleury and the draft pick are better individually than the package offered.

I don't think anyone other than Trouba holds any value in the trade with Edmonton. For the 4th overall and Hall, that's a wild trade thought.

My concern on this trade is more positional. Hall and Tkachuk are both left wings and would be added to Ehlers, Laine, Connor, Lemieux and Petan (who has been used more at LW than centre with the Jets) on the left side. We would be trading away both Stafford and Armia who are Right Wings making the lineup even more imbalanced. If the Jets are going to swing a marquee player trade, I hope it is for a RW, not a LW.

It wouldn't be a given that Edmonton would take that package for just Hall; I can't see them accepting it for Hall and the #4 Overall draft pick. I do really like the Fleury trade, but you'd need to remove Carolina's 2nd from the equation, and maybe even upgrade the 4th going the other way to a 3rd.

Also, as TrueNorth touched on, the Hall trade weakens an already suspect Defense corps and strengthens an already overcrowded group of Forwards. That is addressed for the short-term with the Yandle signing, but his prime probably won't fit within Winnipeg's contention window. Regardless, I'm not a fan of Yandle's contract; he'll probably get more than $5.5M per, and the Jets will likely be very reluctant to sign Free Agents to anything longer than 3 years (since the contracts of Wheeler, Myers, Laine, and Conner all expire in exactly 3 seasons).
