I am 100% on board with getting rid of Abby's contract. I don't really like giving up the second for that to happen, but I think thats the only way a team takes him. Unfortunately, I believe he has a no trade clause still this year and would have to waive it to move to Arizona (which he wouldn't do).

Abdelkader has a NTC.

Rass is going to the AHL as no transfer agreement sending him back to Jr’s instead this year and they want him to play >10 mins a game.

And no way Karlsson signs here during a rebuild.

And why does Arizona need Z and Franzen's contracts? They don't have floor issues, and DET doesn't have cap issues, so moving them doesn't help anyone.

I could see DET trading Franzen to OTT to help them get to the floor if necessary, but there isn't a NEED to move anyone.

Arizona isnt going to do that just because Detroit said please they will have to give up a roster player and likely a first with all that crap coming their way.

Arizona is getting a second round pick plus $10+M in cap space just to take Abby off our roster to make room for another younger forward. (Zadina, Veleno) look like nice options.

Arizona doesn't need contracts to get to the cap floor: they have Hossa's 5.3M and Bolland's 5.5M LTIR money they don't need. Unless the Wings are taking Hjalmarsson's bad deal back they won't touch that trade.

Yeah Arizona doesn't need to help Detroit here, The Yotes will be fine. Maybe Franzen to Ottawa to help them with the ceiling floor. That's about it.
