Wennberg might not be the top 6 centre we really want (though he has put up good numbers before) but he is a solid middle 6 player who should provide value in that middle 6 for some years yet.

Columbus declines. Voracek is too old and doesn’t fit the mold of the team. Savard is too important as a very reliable too 4 RHD.

So you wanna blow up the great defense that Philly has to not get any better on offense? That's a bold strategy

Skinner provides similar numbers as Voracek but is a goal scorer and younger. Kapenen bring lots more speed and skill... Not sure how it's not an improvement. The only players I've taken off the D is Ghost and Gudas (and he'll be 3rd pair most likely next season and probably leave as a UFA).

I feel like with a few players leaving another impact forward will help and there's a surplus of D (I guess presuming Murray can ever stay healthy)... Wennberg is someone I believe they'll be looking to move out and 25 points on a $4.9m contract is probably gonna be a hard sell to most teams.

All of our D depth is on the left side. We even have a LHD playing on the right side. That’s why Savard is so important, he and Jones are the only 2 RHD that we have who are capable of playing in the top 4. Wennberg is solid as a defensive center, he just hasn’t put up points. Voracek would be a great pick up if he wasn’t going to be 30 next season, a little bit older then most of the team( also a little younger then I thought). I would also be hesitant to want a player to come back to a team that already traded him, most of the time things don’t work out so well for the team. Voracek would also have to be a LW because Columbus is pretty full on the right side with Atkinson, Anderson and Bjorkstrand. I just don’t see Voracek as a good fit in Columbus.

Rather have Ghost and say Caufield over Subban. He’s damaged goods (neck) and has a huge impact on our cap structure going forward.

Gudas was arguably one of our best defenders last season and Definately gets underrated by other teams fans. He’s a good partner for puck movers like Sanheim or Ghost. That being said I’d look more to move him at the deadline if Myers has surpasssed him not this off-season.

Columbus won’t accept that offer.

Why are we attaching assets to move MacDonald with one year left after 4 years of not doing it. Makes no sense. The time for that has passed. He can be the 7 or buried in the AHL for the year until his contract expires.

Pass on Skinner unless we can move JVR first*

Giroux
JVR (Skinner*)
Lindblom

Seems solid to me especially with Farabee in the pipeline.

Personally I think that with all the hype Caulfield is getting he'll be picked up before 11th now, plus I disagree about Subban. He's still a very good player and his deal, while expensive is about the right length. My issue with Gudas is more that, while getting he's a lot better than a lot of fans want to admit, I'm not sure where he fits in the roster when I really want an upgrade in the top 4 of the D. Him and Sanheim were probably our best pair last season but we can't really risk going into the season with the Ghost - Provorov pair as the number one in case it still doesn't click like it did in 18-19. Ghost - Gudas doesn't work for me at all, I just don't think their play style mesh at all. Add in that Myers will be on the team (preferably on the 3rd pair) and I wonder where Gudas fits?

If you could aguardiente me 18-19 Provorov - Ghost, I'd be all up for Sanheim - Gudas as the second pair and Morin (or Hagg / whoever) - Myers as the 3rd. Maybe you just move Ghost for that top 4 improvement (which I'd still argue Subban represents), but Ghost is also a hell of a player in the right system, he had a bad year for sure but he's also shown he's capable of top end play over long stretches too.

I like JVR but Skinner is an improvement and having two 30+ goal scorers isn't a bad thing!

Voracek has played left for us in the past though obviously he's basically played right side. I thought more of your D were RHD so fair enough, I follow the Jackets more closely than a lot of teams but I didn't realise that. Back to the drawing board!

Only if you want to eat almost $2m in cap space from next season too. I don't think that is a good idea at all unless the team is going to be nowhere near the cap ceiling (which sounds like it's not going to be the case).
