habs fan: good step in the right direction. Matthews will get 925k for 3 years though. 4th line should have more seasoned vets too, let the youth develop in the AHL a bit more. Defense could also use another top 4, but not at the expense of their future.looking forward to seeing our rivalry revitalized in a couple years time.

Nylander has played centre all year, and Hyman RW. No reason why the Canucks would take on Laich and his salary. Soshikov, Brown, Leivo on wings.

Nylander is not ready to play C in the NHL. Especially not on the first line, and Matthews is locked in as the second line C. You're options are then third line C or more him to the wing.

Also you can't add Brown or Leivo to this roster. You run into the risk of having TOO many youngsters/rookies. The roster posted above is perfect. 2 NHL vets + 1 youngster, 2 NHL vets + 1 youngster, 2 NHL vets + 1 youngsterling. That's the way it should be
