I love Ryan Kesler, having seen every game he's played since he came down from Vancouver in 2014, but his physical condition is such that he may never play another game in the NHL.

as a leaf fan I feel zaitsev and Kadri wont be moved. I also feel that Johnsson would be traded instead of Kapanen. Brown to Edmonton is basically confirmed from last season. leafs might try and package Brown with Johsson to pick up a RHD. maybe nurse or larsson. also your price point on marner is spot on. hes gonna get 10.5-11million

Flyers pass. We need Myers more than Kapanen. We have a few forwards that will be transitioning soon making it less of a need. We need our young defenders more.

Kesler is a major liability. It doesnt make sense to give anything for him

Moving Johnsson is a reduced possibility now that Hyman is injured and may well miss the start of the season. Toronto needs depth at LW.

Not to mention the fact that he has an absolute NMC until 2021.

Highly doubt Marner makes that. It's a gross overpayment and just about everyone who does it for a living knows this. Toronto won't match something over 10.1 because the 1st round picks are too valuable. No team is likely going to offer it anyway

i completely agree. I tossed him at 11 as a buffer and to avoid the "MaRnEr GeTs $15 MM" crowd. I think he ends up between 9.5 and 10.1 as Marner was a 65 point player before JT. Yes he had a great year but we've seen JT turn average players into 70 point players. Marner is the best player JT has played with so its a bit of a balancing act , but like you said no team is giving up 4 1st rounders and 10.1+ mil for marner.
