So you want dumba but you don’t Want to lose Marner or nylander... trade Muzzin for a 1st and prospect. Include that first and prospect with kappanen and Kadri. Add our 2020 first and possibly another Prospect either RW or rhd.

I know he is the prized RHD but really you think he is equivalent to Marner who had 100 pts in year 3 and was a top 4 pick in the draft.

In terms of value to the team they are very close. Actual value I would say maybe a 1st and a 3rd apart.

If you wanted to pry Dumba free you would need to wow them. Like I said, leafs lose that trade.

I had an agm with a different idea. Where the leafs traded nylander and zaitsev for rental RHD, Giving the cap space to go after a ufa D man or possible trade with futures.

Would free up enough money for a major splash. Would result in 20m in space to re up a couple of rfa’s

Zaitsev looked passable when partnered with Muzzin so I think that pairing lives.

Nylander is staying. I don’t think Dubas trades him before seeing him play 1 full year on this contract. Plus trading him would I think not be popular in the room. It would be seen as breaking his word. Even though I don’t think he actually gave that promise.

Kadri let the players down with his suspension. They won’t say it while he is still a member of the team but I think he pays the price of being exiled from Toronto.

This is all thought experiments. Realistically I think you may be right about Kadri but zaitsev dirsn’t fit the team long term and was not a dubas signing, he is also hard to replace.

I’m really not sure exactly which way it would go. There are a lot of combinations.

I’ve always been a big fan of growing from within, we certainly have a large pool of blueline prospects.

I think Rosen is the only one ready but we will have to wait till after training camp to see.
