Description
Used evolving wild's metrics for contracts. I think Kreider is a goner and could easily see him with Edmonton but think Winnipeg could make sense. I think NYR make him expendable with Kakko. Vlad is a goner but I can't tell what we could get for him, so I took a guess. I think Edmonton makes sense cause we traded them Talbot after he got hot and I think Georgiev' value will never be higher. I think you could see Kreider and Pionk for Trouba's rights instead of the No7 pick. I think if Miller and Lundkvist come as advertised next year (2020-21) the blue line is energized and young, relatively protected from Seattle's expansion draft.

Solid trades in terms of value, but the destinations are doubtful..

-- Not sure Winnipeg wants to take Namestnikov but someone would at that price.
-- With Kreider going UFA next year and unlikely to extend with Edmonton (assumed he'd test the market after a good year sniping for McDavid), you'd get a better return from a team like L.A. or Dallas that would likely be able to keep Kreider.

Fair. I think Krieder would fill an immediate hole for Edmonton. Fair point if he tests the market. You could throw in a conditional pick if they resign him. Winnipeg also needs a winger so I'd though Vlad would fit. I figured there would be hesitation from Dallas since they could possibly be giving up their first round picks if Zucc resigns and if they win tonight. As I don't think they'd have the assets. I think L.A is a garbage fire and would not take those contracts as they should be rebuilding sooner. I could also see Boston taking Vlad for two 3rds. Thanks for the input.

I gotta be honest. 8 years with that money is too long. I think max for Panarin is 6 at his age. Deangelo is getting way too long. He’s got talent but you take a huge risk with his off ice issues. Buch is getting way too little. Has to be in the 4-6 range. I’m not sure EDM wants to give up Yamamoto this early. I think if anything works it’s our 1st Kreider for their first. I also would like to believe they go for trouba in the Namestnikov trade not picks. I get the more picks the better but depending on how good we are next season, management might want to just go all in. We have great guys in the system. Also I’m positive Miller is staying another year in Wisconsin and Lunkvist is staying another year too

Max for a UFA is 7, so it's not the worst.. but yeah i wouldn't go a dollar over 11m.. i'd try to get him for 10.5

7 years max for UFA.
Trades are solid, Edmonton accepts or declines based off whether or not Kreider is willing to sign an extension.
Namestnikov fetches somewhere around that amount, just not to Winnipeg.
What I love the most about this is that it’s realistic: I could actually see smothering like this happening, although we would like for bad contracts to be gone (along with Jimmy Vesey).

@ChytilMania I appreciate the feedback. I tried keeing it realisitc. I'll be honest Vlad is a weird player because I think he still has a lot of hype with how he did with TB. He just has no plans with the NYR long term, like Strome or Spooner did. While Vesey is an overpayment, I think Brendan Smith's contract is more of a problem. I've seen the idea of Callahan coming back and TB giving more draft capital away as we give them much needed cap space, and considering we won't be competing for a cup for the duration of Cally's contract, we can weaponize the cap space that we would have. Vesey while an overpayment I think is a net positive because we've signed Fox and shown other college free agents that the NYR can find a spot for you a la Hayes.

@Spanky227 Fair. I've adjusted his contract to fit the 7 years and with Evolving Wilds contract demands to the new figure.

I meant 2020-21 for Lundkvist and Miller. Good catch. I agree they will take the extra year. Yamamoto was kind of my pipe dream and I could easily see Georgie and Krieder along with a first to move up to #7. I'll be honest I don't know what prospect they would target, or if they have someone they have fallen in love with besides Kakko/Hughes. Vlad is still intriguing to me. I think a west coast team fits and I just figured Winnipeg is in the market for a middle six winger, and I felt the price was appropriate. I would much rather Trouba's RFA rights, but that's more doubtful than Yamamoto coming over in the trade deal. I'm paranoid that Panarin goes to Florida with Bob so the 7 year deal was done for that reason.
