Rebuild option

Created by: RC333
Team: 2018-19 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: May 7, 2019
Published: May 7, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If Malkin and kessel get traded at least trade them for top picks and prospects. Don't waste your time getting roster players back bcuz none will replace malkins 72points in 68 games, and kessels 82 points in 82 games. Might as well rebuild quick rather than getting roster players that will only give management hope and delay the rebuild instead of shortening it by trading your top assets when they have good value. Either keep pushing with the roster you have now or rebuild but remember that the team barely made the playoffs

Back when the canucks were good they never wanted to rebuild bcuz they thought they could still compete with a stale roster or make trades that could keep them competing (didn't work) just cut your losses and rebuild before your assets get to old to move. But don't trade Malkin kessel and letang unless you're rebuilding

Imo the teams got potential, young guys are given chances top succeed in top 6 roles and top 4 roles. Team gets younger and still has loads of potential.

NSH declines. Fabbro provides quality on a very affordable contract for the Preds. Furthermore, NSH would have to move another piece be able to absorb Kessel's contract. It'd be easier for Poile to offer Subban / Ellis in this scenario and cut out the middleman.

Nonetheless, I don't think a one for one gets the job done.

Fabbro is only cheap for so long, he'll eventually be pricy. I think Nashville can easily move out a contract of someone in the bottom 6 to make room. Its clear Nashville has everything but they need an elite winger to tie it all together

All fair points.

On the flip side, NSH's blue line is indeed getting older (not unable to play older, but still older). Fabbro is the only young defensemen they have. I believe it'd take a lot more than Kessel to move the future.

They will if they keep missing the playoffs. Aside from Washington Columbus and Pittsburgh everyone else in the conference has a good future. Their vets can't hold them up forever. I'm a canucks fan and after 2012 The team should have stripped it down but they didn't and it dragged the rebuild on. The penguin don't have to rebuild but if they are trading Malkin or kessel they might as well cuz the return won't make them a playoff team

Penguins haven't missed the playoffs in 13 years. In fact, it's the longest active streak. You should just stick to your own team as it's obvious you nothing about the Penguins and very little about hockey.

Lmao I worded it wrong, I know they made the playoffs and have that streak. I'm just saying the teams gonna continue to break down and since they barely made the playoffs this year, it'll turn them into a non playoff team. Trade your assets when they value don't wait and trade them for scraps. Don't be so butthurt by reality
