See ya later Eriksson

Created by: domgul
Team: 2019-20 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: May 8, 2019
Published: May 8, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
May the odds be in our favor.

Trade: Ottawa taking Eriksson's contract makes sense as of July 1st, after his bonus is paid. His paycheck is small but his caphit is huge, letting Ottawa reach the cap floor.

Trade: Brandon Sutter and Goldobin to Montreal fills the 4th line hole for the Canadians and add Goldobin who still has a lot of offensive potential but won't work with Green or in Vancouver. Joel Armia brings the Canucks size and skill on the 3rd line.

RFA Signings: Boeser will fetch between $7m to $8m

I mean, it’s still 4 million a year. They would still have to pay him 9 million

Need to give Ottawa something of value to take Eriksson and if the Sens are smart they'll stay away from long cap dumps like Eriksson, Lucic, etc.
They should only take one or two year cap dumps, long ones like Eriksson could cause Ottawa problems when they have to start giving some of their young players raises.

So Ericsson and Lucic don't waive their NMCs or NTCs for Ottawa.

I think the only way Erickson gets moved is by taking on another bad contract. Might be looking at a Erickson for Lucic trade making the most sense. Oilers may throw in a late pick due to the extra year on Lucic’s contract.
Both players get a fresh start on a new team.
