2 former 1sts, a 1st and a 2nd isn't half of what it would take?

That's more than what Tampa gave up for Mcdonagh and he's better than Hampus

at the time of the trade, mcdonagh was not better than lindholm. I personally still don't think he is. Mcdonagh only had 1 full year left on his deal, lindholm has three. Namestnikov was having a great season at the time of the trade. I'm not sold on either of these prospects, and anaheim will need at least one legit young NHL roster player. I don't think Howden moves the needle.

Lindholm is not good enough to warrant more than this. Anything more would be an overpayment for a number 3 defensemen.

He's a legit #1, but that's the most recent trade of a #1 dman to go off of

and it isn't really similar at all. 1 full year vs 3 full years.

I like Lindholm, he's a good player for sure and I'd take him on my team any day but the exaggeration on here regarding him is palpable. He is truly overrated. (One can be overrated and still a really good player)

Some people make him out to be better than Karlsson, Doughty, Burns etc. No, he is not and its not even close. He is a solid defensively responsible dman but his offensive skills are lacking and can in no way by himself (Like a true #1 can) carry a d-core and command a game. Top pairing dmen can do this.

He is not a kid anymore. Going on 26 and played 6 full seasons in the NHL already. This is what he is with a chance for a little future improvement.

Burns is overrated. That guy gets walked by offensive players all the time. Yes, he is great offensively but defensively he is a liability.... Now going off of that, I compare Lindholm more to a Vlasic like player. Offensively he doesn't show up on the score sheet but he is there to play against the other teams top players and to shut them down. What he has the Rangers offering doesn't fit what Anaheim needs, they need a LH top 6 forward and a top 4 RHD.

In terms of not offering what Anaheim needs, fine. Im not sure what their needs are to be honest so I can agree with that. But those who place Lindholm into this upper echelon of dmen are the same ones that gave Vlasic a 7M x 8 year contract.......... Even at his absolute height, Vlasic doesn't effect the game enough to warrant that contract. But contract amount and whatnot is not what i'm after. Lindholm actually has a very decent contract so no problems there. With that said, my only beef is when people think he is a franchise dman ....... Not in my books.
