Just for fun - never going to happen

Description
It's a lot of moving parts and the value on the trades is probably off, but whatever, its just for fun. At least we would be free of a couple bad contracts and the D would have to be better than it was this year.

I can understand why they wouldn't do a 23 y/o Lehkonen, but Byron is 30 and MTL could really use a top 4 Dman. I'm sure the Pens would have to add, but I also know Bergevin has made some pretty awful moves in the past.

Hornqvist for Neal makes some sense, if Hornqvist waives his NTC

My thinking is that Calgary really needs a stronger net front presence and someone that Tkachuck can learn a few things from. I'm not actually happy for the Pens to take Neal back, but it would get us out of JMFJ's contract.

I understand that there would have to be some agreement from players to move where I am trading them, but it might not be as difficult as it seems.

Finally, I am not going to get into an argument about whether or not Bergevin has been a good GM...but need I remind you of him moving a recent Norris winner for a player 10 years older. However would you be more interested if it was Schultz and Maatta went to Florida?

Bergevin is fine, some good, some bad. The Domi trade saved him, but I think he's better than some people give him credit for.

As for your Florida trade, adding Schultz is an odd throw in. I'd switch him and Maatta maybe and just keep Schultz, they have no one to replace him

What the hell is fun about this roster? The Pens traded away elite talent for inferior players.

It was more about the Cap than anything. Also Brodie kind of fills the role and with Ekholm the Pens would be stronger defensively. Overall the plan was to get better defensively, hence why most of the players coming in a stronger defensive players than the players going out.

Yeah I know that Malkin, Phil and Horny are all not going to be traded, if any of them. However the players coming back tend to be younger and more affordable. Also the "fun" comment, meant that people shouldn't get all hot under the collar over this proposal, its just for fun.
