Toronto doesn’t offer Johnsson that deal. That is a walk to ufa. If it were offered he would take it.

The marner deal seems fair. Last I heard he was looking for 10.5m on 8 years... nothing but rumours. If you have a better source for marners contract I would love to hear it...

Matthews' deal walks him right into UFA status as well. You'd think that might be more of a concern. You pay a premium for a player's UFA years and I dont think MAngo is a guy you commit those resources to. Josh Anderson is a gritty, physical winger who put up 27 goals last year. I love Kapanen's speed and forechecking but I'll take the big Burlington boy hands down and inject some snarl into an always anaemic Leafs roster. Nylander playing wing on the third line is a waste of both cap and talent . He's a natural centre. And in this scenario, he's redundant. I'd rather see Montour in the top pairing and big Tage Thompson in the 3 hole as well as a first round draft pick. If Kadri for a first and a former first round pick (Dellandrea) bothers you, I dont know what to tell you. He's a 2C who got lost in the shuffle last season. He also has a reputation that hurts him and the club, often in playoffs.
