I like PK's game and always have, would be great to see him play for the wings. But to part with Hronek right now would be something the Wings would regret for years and years to come. He's slowly progressing into what could very well be a cornerstone of the Wings D for the next 10 years. He's young, mobile, makes a great pass out of his zone and is very savvy on the PP. I think he's a defensive piece the Wings will build around for years to come.

I love the addition of Valeno into the third line, I legitimately believe they give him a fair shake to make the team this year, get him NHL minutes and allow him to learn and progress as they'll want to be competing with him in a couple of years from now.

I think Veleno gets called up mid Dec. and doesn't go back to GR.

I think we can all agree though that Abdelkader and Ericsson should be buried in the minors for the remainder of their contracts

Ericsson will be gone after this year anyways so it's not worth buying him out. I can stomach another year of Abby bouncing in and out of the lineup. But once the 19-20 season is done, its time to creatively remove him (or most of him) from the books. I think that's Yzerman's biggest challenge. Frans is another task, but he has value, just his contract is too long and about 1.5 mill too high for the production. You can eat some of his contract and move the term likely without too much pain. Abdelkader on the other hand isn't trending in the right direction, has a limited skill set and has far too much term for what he brings to the table. I think this one will be tough to move without dropping an asset of decent net worth.

Yeah I don't know about Abs, but it looks like they are just going to let Ericsson play out the final year of his contract. If they feel Cholowski is ready to come up I do think Ericsson and Daley will be a health scratches more than last year.
