While I like Horny, I'd pass for the Bruins. I'd rather just wait until Backes' contract expires or find a taker and get nothing in return.

Johnson has a year longer on his contract and you expect Minnesota to retain salary? That wouldn't happen, Rask was bad but the Wild have enough cap space that they don't need to dump him in a bad trade just yet. They can bury him in the minors if they need the roster spot.

You could take out the retention and picks without making much of a wave in that deal

I could see Minnesota doing a 1 for 1 swap with no salary retention if they see Johnson as being a good replacement for Seeler if he struggles or they trade him, but I would rather they kept Seeler or even Hunt as their 3rd pair LHD and find another way to deal with Rask. As bad as Johnson's contract looks now, it will look worse in year 4.
