It's a slight overpay but not by much. I'd rather give him an extra million to keep around than overpay Leo Komarov *eye roll*

If Nelson hit the open market he probably gets a lot closer to $7M because of how thin C options are. Someone was going to pay. Overall, this is a good deal for the Islanders.
