So first you trade... then Offersheet lol.

I think that is a fair deal for toronto. Personally o don’t think Gudas is better than zaitsev but is contract is better and about to expire. Making room for our prospects to come up or sign a ufa when we may have some cap space.

I have put philly in cap hell, but an interesting season ahead, I think zaitzev could be solid as a depth no pressure min and injury replacement type 5 through 8 dman, with this top 4 well insulated and also a change of scenery wouldn’t hurt

So we pay Zatisev for the next 5 years why exactly? Kindness of our hearts.

You can have Gudas for a second. Zatisev is your problem.

Add a pick, lost a lot in other moves, and a hope of buying low

Zero chance Philly does this. Less than zero. We’re a season away from getting rid of our own Zatisev in MacDonald. Why would we immediately put ourselves in that situation again. Think about it.....makes no sense. Especially for just a second rounder. That’s asinine

Difference is skating ability, zaitzev can skate, McDonald and shlemko can’t, too slow for today’s game, with that top 4 zaitzev would be in a battle for minutes and be well insulated from pressure situations, only play too his strengths, I did put philly in cap hell so possibly not a time for a buy low gamble

Provorov/Ghost
Sanheim/Myers

That’s without a move for Trouba.
Zatisev isn’t in our top 4.

Cap hell also, and missed first round picks the last couple years, so this maybe a step back and bit of a development year with that young roster. Wheeler, little, and Buffy not getting any younger, but they may not have the horses with out a little more development

Ya I got him as a scratch and would be battling for ice with Myers and hagg as 5/6

5/6 would be Morin/Myers.

Hagg if not dealt/ Zatisev 7th.

5 years at 4.5 for a 7 isn’t good in a cap age. Again. Zero chance that deal happens

Fair enough, that wasn’t really the idea on the build anyway, more the offersheet and getting trouba and broisset

Worst case pay Seattle to take final 3 years with a 2nd round sweetener at expansion draft
