'' VGK the only team exempt from the Expansion Draft . (they'll like be using this to their advantage upgrading like they have with stone and patches)"

its not that we have to do anything , its that we should with Juulsen Brook and Fleury's growth all being stunted otherwise as Juulsen's already faced since Weber's return and Petry's demotion .

VGK are going to be taking advantage of their position snagging multiple players with little to no competition driving up the prices .
MTL is looking to use this to get a 6'6 LD who plays Claude Juliens style of Physical Hockey .

The question should be why would Vegas make that trade??

Trading their best d prospect and a 2nd rd draft pick for a player, according to this site, has a NMC?? That's not using their 'don't have to protect anyone from the expansion craft's status to their advantage.

why trade Suzuki for a Struggling Patches ?

why trade Branstrome for an Aging Goal Scorer you still have to pay UFA prices to sign ?

because there building a cup team now .
everything Mcphee's done in his career indicates he'll make the trade

Would be a nice return for last year of Petry! Montreal likely to retain 50%
