Description
Jackets prospect cupboard is stocked. But, there is no reason to rush along guys who maybe aren't quite ready (Milano, Zaar, Hannikainen, etc). In this mock, I tried to create a fair trade that suits both parties needs.
Columbus wants to shed salary and get younger. They ideally need someone for the 3rd line LW spot. It's logical to think that Nashville would be in on Hartnell, would this deal make sense? Fiala has extreme upside in my opinion. Rychel may need a change in scenery and Paliotta is a sweetener as Kukan may have jumped him on the CBJ depth chart. Jackets also get a 5th round pick for the draft that they currently don't have.

Yeah, pretty much. I think we need more cap space.

CBJ wants to shed salary and get younger. So do 29 other teams. Nashville trade looks good. Why all these Campbell trades? His trade value now is about zero.

Yes, I stated the obvious. I was meaning more along the lines of Columbus isn't in need for big ticket names or veterans. Campbell was horrendous in the faceoff circle this year. As a 4th line center, if you can't win faceoffs, get out. I think CBJ will take a 6th for him at this point.

Nashville trade would have looked good a year or two ago. Now Fiala is a top 50 prospect and Rychel has fallen off the map.

If you think hes worth a 6th that means no one wants him. you'll have to buy him out or put him on waviers. No one is gunna just take him on...

Arizona maybe needs grit, no? Doesn't necessarily have to be Arizona. Could be anyone looking for veteran 4th line presence. Just a thought.

teams arent going to dump any pick, even the last, for expensive "grit". They can go to FA or the AHL. No team is going to be able to dump players they dont like for a low pick, that never happens.

He may still be valued around the league. We don't know. We just sit here and click around on a salary cap site. This is just based off of things I've read from the Columbus Dispatch that Campbell may be on his way out of town. Head scratching trades are made sometimes. As long as the two clubs agree, deals will be made.

I could see Campbell being swapped for Letestu in Edmonton, Campbell brings grit to oilers and played for Chia while Letestu brings a bit more speed for the CBJ, both in equal cap hits
