I like the Trouba trade a lot and hope it actually happens. However I would prefer to keep kappy and trade with vegas and get collin miller to play with muzzin as it would be way cheaper and make our offense better with kappy

Yea I think you're right - I'm pretty hesitant to deal Kappy too. I love his speed I just wish he had a bit more creativity when it comes to playmaking. I don't know what a Miller deal would look like but there's been talk of him as a Leafs target since he was with the B's hey? Gotta think one of Johnsson/Dermott/Bracco/Goalie Prospect would be going out in that deal... or maybe a pick? I dunno.

Also it's crazy to think of the players that could hyopthetically be out of the lineup for the first 4 - 6 weeks. Hyman? Dermott? Is there one more? I'm curious about Mikheyev and the Leafs seem high on Korshkov.

Tilted way towards the leafs, trouba is a shutdown top pairing rhd who had more points than Kadri last year. That’s gotta make the lightbulb go off in your head...

I don't think playmaking is Kappy's best asset. He has excellent zone entry ability. I think he needs to refine his offensive game more into a drive to the net, tips and one-timers type of player. He doesn't have the skill set to be a playmaking distributor and the Leafs don't have as much need for that. If he is willing to drive the net more and get in tight more often, I think he is going to increase his offensive contribution.

I would love to see him on the LW of Matthews/Nylander to help them with zone entries as that is not what Matthews is good at. That would give them somebody to drive the net, a player to distribute the puck and the league's best finisher. As our 2nd line. The only way I'm willing to trade Kap is to get a top pair RD in return, and I'm not sure that's happening.

Yes but that is why they move him to another hilly, Detroit or the Rangers. Leafs can’t sign him long term either so they maximize their return by moving him somewhere else.
