I'm not sure Florida takes that deal, especially adding a 1st with a 26 year old forward entering his prime, who just scored 92 points for an aging Malkin.

I get why everyone brings up the age thing, but Malkin is still a superstar and isn't going to fall off a cliff this year, next year or the year after. When Huberdeau trade talks first surfaced, I am sure people would be shocked if Malkin was offered. Now that the dust settled it seems to be going the other way.

I do think the first would be coming from Pittsburgh, though. Pittsburgh doesn't need it and it can be viewed as salary compensation

I think age is a big factor here, though. Malkin will be 33 when the season starts, Huberdeau just turned 26, and had a career year. I just don't see that trade happening, because you're basically trading away a player who just scored 92 points, entering his prime, and not to mention a REALLY good contract for the next four years.
