Place 2 million salary retain of Marleau's contract and maybe if Karlsson stays in SJS the Sharks will listen to the Leafs request for Braun. I've made that trade on my ACGM, I also like the Leafs looking at the Sharks other Karlsson (M.) for a trade.

For Zaitsev I like to look at the Ducks, since their RHD is also weak and they have a couple salary cash dump players of their own to get rid of (Kesler and Eaves).

Also looking at the Ducks I believe Kase and Shore's contracts (mid 2 million bridge) should be similar to Johnsson and Kapanen .

Just don't see a San Jose team wanting to take Marleau 's cap. Leafs won't trade Kapenan that cheaply, besides Puji hasn't proved he is an NHLer.

You forgot to mention the 1.5 million over payment of Johnsson as well. Marner's contract of 8 years should be in the 10 million range actually. The below 9 contract offer would be a bridge deal.

Well with Nylander's camp asking for Draisaitl money instead of Larkin money, that was the problem. Marner's camp should be happy with Draisaitl money but not now after that Nylander contract happened.

I dont think it will matter in the end, nobody will offersheet him and he will have to accept a fair deal. Its just ridiculous how sheep mentality like our fan base is when the media says anything

Leafs fans are funny to think Johnsson is going to sign under 4 mil. Cap is going up. The guy put up pretty good numbers and he's only going to improve.

Here's a guy who doesn't understand that the salary cap is going up. Still stuck in the 73 million years. Cap is going to be roughly 83 million. It's unfortunate that he will command a higher cap hit but that's the reality of the cap going up. If you think he's gonna sign for anything under 10 mil... You're lost. & for Johnsson.. Again the guy is young and put up pretty good numbers. He's only going to get better. Cap is going up. Those players aren't worth 2-3 million anymore. Maybe on a bridge deal he gets something like 3.5 but it would be wise to sign him long term and reap the benefits later on.

Puljujarvi still has immense potential (see Strome trade). He just needs a change of scenery. & Benning would automatically be an upgrade on a very weak right side. Plus Zaitsev will be shipped out so it could be that much thinner. I could see SJ wanting Marleau if Thornton re-signs to go for one last cup run together.

Yes, cause :

League comparables :
Bjorkstrand ( 8 + 13 + 40 ) = 3 x 2,5M ( Jul 2018 )

Insider comparables :
Hyman ( 6 + 28 ) = 4 x 2,25M
Brown ( 6 + 36 ) = 3 x 2,1M

Arbitration :
Danault ( 10 + 44 + 25 ) = 3 x 3M ( Jul 2018 )

You are correct and we dont have a clue

Ahh yes a Danault who was on pace for 39 point in 82 games got just over 3 million in 2018. & I say Johnsson, who was on pace for 48 points in 82 games in his first full NHL season is worth 3.5 on a bridge deal after the cap goes up by 3.5 mil. Yes I'm completely insane, sorry.

Actually no you are lost. Everyone with a brain in hockey knows Marner is not worth that. He is the 8th-12th best winger in the nhl why pay him like the #1? Also if you take all the comparables and increase the cap inflation he should get about 9.25-9.5. So get your head checked son

4 million for a 24 year old RFA with 20 career goals? Ya makes sense.
You are funny to think you have an opinion because you look at a stat sheet and dont watch the games. He iba 3rd line player who's stats were propped up by playing with Matthews. It's that simple

Dude C'mon, I put him at 4.3 for 5 years. That should pay off in 2 years imo when he hits his prime. I'm not suggesting his bridge deal be 4.3, check again. You gonna sit here and say Guentzel is worthless cause he plays with Crosby? hahah

No he's not we actually watched the guy play hockey and not look at a stat sheet. He was on the 4th line and benched for long parts of the year until he played with Matthews by default. His defensive game is in shambles and he has zero leverage. Other GMs don't lose draft picks for offer sheets on these type of 3rd line players when they can just sign them.
**** it's annoying when other teams fans tell you they know everything because they can do a 5 second Google search of stats

The Ducks have Shore and Kase (both on bridge contracts in the mid 2 million $ range), 2 players of similar stats of Johnsson and Kapanen. I can see Kapanen fighting to get Reinhart money of mid 3 million (both are from the same Draft year) but Reinhart had put up better ELC numbers.

Just worry about your own sad sack team and stop talking about the team you know nothing of (jealously>?).

Over 10.5 will never happen. No GM is offer sheeting him for 4 1sts. So less than that is what the leafs would match. It's odd you don't understand this

Yeah, I guess all the insiders don't understand either. A shame. Kid is 22 years old, led his team in scoring. Not even close to his prime and you think he's taking less than 10 million in an NHL where the cap is quickly rising. I believe it's you that doesn't understand.
