Luongo is a decent NHL goalie. Alzner is an overpaid AHL D. Both have almost similar contracts with same-term. MTL needs to add.

It's the job of Karlsson's agents to (falsely) talk up UFA interest with as many teams as possible. IMO, Karlsson has a limited number of teams he truly wants to sign with. Think EK is gonna find there are even fewer teams that want to risk signing him long term and what contending teams have the cap that he wants.

Agreed i think either the Rangers or Stars are possible front runners for Erik Karlsson. If i was Karlsson's agent i'd definitely be talking up false UFA interest. Just to see what's potentially out there.
