Sanheim's deal takes him straight to UFA. Besides that, great team.

I love Sanheim but I’m still a tiny bit hesitant to give him a long extension just yet, so maybe a 3 year deal at 4.5?

I'm really confident in him tbh. Would give him a 5.25x7 deal. Could become a steal.

I would be pretty okay with that. I worry about the term solely because I would want to see if he can keep his offensive numbers up for a few more seasons but I’d be willing to take that risk

I think he got the boost this year due to not having a coach who makes him play with scrubs like Weal and Raffl.

One thing with the jets trade. Instead of rubstov and the 11 OA, send us Myers and your 2020 1st (whatever protections you want). Jets need a long term replacement for Trouba soon. If no myers, I think the jets decline. You can absorb the hit of losing Myers anyways as Sanheim can play in the top 4. Rubstov simply doesn't appeal to me

Like what you said about Patrick. Don't know why Toffelli has gotten so much love in trades recently. IMO 3.6m could be spend better (and keep your picks)

I’m interested in Toffoli simply because he fills an immediate hole and is a UFA in a year. While we certainly have a hole at 3RW, Ratcliffe, Frost, and Farabee are all very close to NHL ready on the wing, so it’d probably be wiser to take a guy with 1 year until UFA status than to sign someone to a long term deal.

I would do that as long as we could keep Gudas.

I said instead. Gudas would still be included

Gudas, Myers, 2020 1st (any conditions) for Trouba signed

That’d be a no deal from Philly then. We can’t give away both of our only two RD and the difference in value between Myers and Rubstov is far greater than our 2019 11OA and whatever our 2020 1st ends up being

What if we throw in Perreault. He would be a very good mentor for Patrick. As I said, You are getting one of the best defensive RD in the league and Sanheim can move into the top 4 on his offside. To my knowledge He did play the entire year on his offside on the top pairing. Then you have a 3rd pairing of Hagg - Morin

That’s not a bad addition in terms of value, and that would be a great top 4 I agree. The problem is I think you underestimate how nightmarishly horrific a Hagg-Morin pairing could end up being. Hagg is a bad defenseman and Morin is 24 years old with under 10 games of NHL experience under his belt.

So far one of the better flyers scenario so far. Fair trades and good contracts.
